The TAG3 C offers two onboard chorus effects, three reverbs, two delay types and a chromatic tuner, plus a built-in looper … and it sounds absolutely incredible.
Yamaha have provided even more customisation options with a dedicated (and free) TAG Remote app that wirelessly connects your mobile device to the guitar via Bluetooth®. The app also provides extra loop storage and allows you to play the songs, backing tracks and playlists in your smartphone through the TAG3 C’s sound hole, enabling you to jam along literally anywhere, even at the beach or outdoor barbecue – again, without the need for an external amplifier.
The TAG3 C’s hand crafted Dreadnought body features a cutaway for easy access to the upper region of the fretboard. The book-matched solid Sitka Spruce top is simply first class and features a clear pick guard while the back and sides are solid Mahogany.
The satin-finished Mahogany neck is capped with a premium 20-fret Ebony fingerboard and the neck profile feels super comfortable.
The sound hole rosette, in particular, is quite stunning, with lovely tonewood inlays and blue abalone accents. The circular inlay below the sound hole near the cutaway controls the looper – initiating and ending loop sequences.
Inside the sound hole resides a micro rotary dial for the output volume of the built-in piezo pickup and preamp when connecting the TAG3 C to an amplifier — a nice touch for live performance.
Simple Controls
Four simple buttons control effect levels, loopers and Bluetooth pairing. The small buttons occupy less space, reducing the acoustic sound loss that results from removing body wood. The line-out volume can also be adjusted using a dial in the soundhole.
Bluetooth Support
TAG3 C features Bluetooth® functionality for audio playback. Connect to smart devices and play your favorite songs from the guitar’s body. The sound is transmitted by the vibrations of the actuators inside the guitar, giving a realistic sound that brings music to life.
Built-in Effects
Two actuators installed on the inner surface of the guitar resonate in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations generated by the actuators are then transmitted to the body of the guitar and to the air in and around it, resulting in authentic reverb, chorus and delay sounds that actually radiate from within the body.
Built-in Looper
With the onboard looper feature, you can effortlessly record and playback your performances. Play melodies over your backing tracks or create unique beats by tapping your guitar. The possibilities for creativity are endless, limited only by your imagination.
Built-in Tuner
TAG3 C provides a highly accurate digital tuner. Easy to use, easy to read, easy to stay in tune.
Rechargeable Battery
TAG3 C features a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery with magnetic charging connection, giving you up to 5.5 hours of play time.
Mobile Editor
The iOS/Android compatible “TAG Remote” app is a dedicated editor for TransAcoustic guitar players. Various settings such as effect parameter adjustment and loop phrase management can be controlled on your smart device.
Pro-SCM Setup
Its a well known fact that Yamaha make great guitars. The TAG3 tonewoods and build quality are top shelf.
Timber comes from trees and with the changes in weather conditions, humidity etc, these timbers often try to be trees again.
Necks can move, fretboards can shrink ever-so-slightly exposing sharp fret ends, etc, etc.
It is also impossible at the factory level to second guess the exact requirements of how a player likes their instrument to be setup, so they are setup within a defined tolerance.
We setup a lot of instruments.
This instrument for example will be setup for you before it leaves our shop. We will discuss your preferences and work towards providing that. If you are a beginner we will guide you and ensure that this instrument is as easy to play as it possibly can be.
Our Pro-SCM setup includes:

• Check and rectify any buzzing, intonation or playability issues
• Check and adjust the nut and bridge string heights
• Hand roll the fret ends to debur the sharp edges and polish the frets
