Now in its third incarnation, the MG Series embodies the pursuit of design excellence, and incorporates some of the same technologies developed for use in high-end professional consoles, including studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing, and a rugged, reliable construction. The MG12XU is the 12-channel version of the series, with six mono XLR and 6.35mm (1/4″) hybrid inputs along with three stereo line inputs.

EXCEPTIONAL CLASS-A D-PRE DISCRETE MIC PREAMPS
It all starts here…everything you strive to do as a sound engineer is dependent on the quality of your preamps. Your preamp quality determines the direction your mix will take and ultimately, how good it is going to sound.
MG Series mixing consoles feature Yamaha’s studio-grade discrete class-A D-PRE preamps. These exceptional preamps utilise an inverted Darlington circuit, comprising two cascading transistors in a configuration that provides more power with lower impedance they deliver lush, fat and natural sounding bass along with smooth, soaring high frequency performance.
With very low distortion, Yamaha’s D-PRE preamps operate over an impressively wide frequency range that allow them to handle signals from any audio source without over amplifying any specific elements of the sound. Having such a pure sonic platform to build on will ultimately save you time and effort by eliminating the need for excessive EQ’ing or additional effects processing in order to “fix your mix”.
HIGH QUALITY OP-AMPS
The head amp determines the ultimate sound quality and op-amp integrated circuits are one of the most important components in the head amp circuit. Yamaha MG Series mixers feature high-quality, custom made MG01 op-amps that were developed in cooperation with one of the World’s larges semiconductor manufacturers.
While it’s a fact that many other audio companies have designed their Op-amps with electrical design and efficiency as the main priority, we know (from word directly on the inside) that Yamaha worked directly with the semiconductor manufacturer to focus on sound quality as the ultimate priority resulting in a Pre-Amp that delivers sonic fidelity never experienced before at this price point.
MG01 op-amps feature circuitry that has been severely scrutinised and redesigned to a level in which even the internal components and wiring have been optimised and materials such as high-quality silicon wafers and copper wire have been used in order to achieve superb resolution.
SWITCHABLE PHANTOM POWER AND PAD SWITCH
With switchable phantom power, MG Series consoles allow you to take full advantage of the greater frequency response and high sound quality of condenser microphones. The input channel with PAD switch accepts MIC to line level of inputs, PAD Switch attenuates high input signals that often accompany mic’d instruments during performance, avoiding the clipping that can seriously affect your mix.
