YAMAHA LJ6 MEDIUM JUMBO ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC GUITAR natural finish
With more than 50 years experience handcrafting guitars and with millions sold, Yamaha are without question one of the world’s biggest and most popular guitar companies. Yamaha are not known for doing things by halves and exceptional value for money has been the cornerstone of their success and popularity.
A superb example of this is the Hand Crafted LJ6 medium jumbo acoustic electric guitar.
The LJ6 offers you an unequalled guitar, rich in Tone, Feel and Appearance. The LJ6 has been handcrafted with a solid Englemann Spruce top, along with Rosewood back and sides and a 5-ply laminate Rosewood/Mahogany neck. The LJ body style is the perfect contemporary acoustic – big bodied, curvy looks and wide, open sound that make this guitar equally at home with fingerstyle or chord styles and the softened midrange makes it a perfect companion for the singer/songwriter.
One of the most affordable Yamaha handcrafted guitars, the LJ6 nonetheless shows supreme craftsmanship and a fantastic warm timbre.
Where many manufacturers use Sitka spruce tops for their high-end models, Yamaha have selected Engelmann spruce for the handcrafted LJ6 guitar. This light and resonant tonewood offers an excellent tonal response with a wide harmonic range. Visually easy on the eye, its opaque light yellow tint is reminiscent of a mature acoustic instrument.

YAMAHA LJ6 Yamaha A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
Amongst other things, vintage instruments are prized for their tone. Evolved through years of playing, vibration and changes in their moisture content, it can take decades for an instrument to develop its “voice”. Its no surprise really then to learn that Yamaha’s Acoustic Engineers have developed the technology to bring forward this process. Yamaha A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through the precise control of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood are manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of the wood in an instrument that has been played for years…and it works!
YAMAHA LJ6 Re-Designed Bracing Pattern
A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end punch and presence.
YAMAHA LJ6 Supremely Comfortable Neck Profile
A re-evaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding and the neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today’s traditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.
YAMAHA LJ6 5-Ply Laminate Neck
The 5-ply laminated neck of mahogany and rosewood plus the addition of a double action adjustable rod creates a neck with excellent strength and stability.
YAMAHA LJ6 SRT Zero Impact Pickup
The SRT Zero Impact Pickup system is a newly developed passive type pickup configuration designed to minimise the pickup’s impact on the guitar’s tone and traditional appearance of the instrument. The SRT Zero Impact Pickup system utilises individual piezoelectric elements for each string to faithfully reproduce the dynamic sound of the L Series and give the instrument outstanding presence when amplified. Whether you are playing live on stage, at church or jamming with friends, the benefits of the SRT Zero Impact Pickup will shine through.
