Sigma BME Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar
Very few acoustic guitar brands can boast a history and pedigree as rich as Sigma. Established in 1970 by Martin Guitars – the world’s oldest guitar company, the Sigma range was designed to compete with the tsunami of cheap Asian built guitars that were flooding the market. Sigma instruments manufactured in Japan in the 1970’s are now highly sought after by collectors and treasured by their owners.
Today, Sigma is no longer owned by Martin and stands as a brand in its own right, enjoying a well deserved reputation for quality, playability and superior tone. Based on classic US acoustic designs, every Sigma delivers a sound that you would expect from much higher-priced American made guitars.
This is the Sigma BME Acoustic-Electric Bass guitar.
Featuring a 34″ full scale length, the BME has a solid Sitka Spruce top and Mahaogany back and sides. Acoustically, this baby rocks but if you need to really get noticed, the Sigma active preamp and undersaddle pickup is tailor made for on-stage and studio duties.
The Sigma BME is a good instrument however, the care and attention given to it courtesy of our Pro-SCM setup transforms it into a great instrument. Our technician has hand rolled the fret ends and polished the frets. The nut has been chamfered and the nut slots adjusted along with the saddle. This setup is worth around $200 – it is included at no extra cost.
