Rotosound RTC1 The Crusader Hand Wired Chorus Pedal Hand Built in the UK
Designed by famed electronics wizard, John Oram of VOX and TRIDENT fame, the Rotosound Crusader is a hand made Chorus pedal delivering lush, musical, analogue width and warmth to your tone.
The Crusader features a very warm, analogue chorus tone that can be blended with the original signal using to the Level control making this much more versatile than the average chorus pedal. This feature allows you to mix the level of chorus effect and dry sound from no effect at all up to a 50/50 mix. Being able to blend in the chorus effect using the level control is a superb addition and not found on many other chorus units on the market. This allows for fairly extreme setting of the rate and depth to become musical when small amounts of the chorus effect are blended in for some unique sounds.
With the LED flashing rhythmically to illustrate the setting of the rate knob, the Crusader delivers a superbly warm analog chorus sound reminiscent of the early BOSS/ROLAND pedals and effects processors with the added ability to take things further with a more comprehensive control over the speed of the “rate”. So much so, that the last segment of travel on the knob delivers a simulation of a Leslie rotary speaker.
The chorus sound that was all over many iconic 80s recordings is an awesome effect. Rotosound have made this effect even more useable. By using the mix knob to blend in a small amount of the chorus effect, there’s plenty of shading of the ‘enhanced tonality’ type that could work in many musical genres. With rate and depth up full, you can even add in a little ring modulation flavour.
This handbuilt Rotosound pedal is part of a series that was built in incredibly small numbers making it a real collectors item. We have one only – brand new and unused.
