This is an incredible guitar for one of rock and roll’s coolest guitar players . . . you!
Yes, we can’t deny that Queens Of The Stone Age supremo, Josh Homme had a hand – well, maybe two hands in the design of this Custom Shop beauty. The real story is that Josh (Mr Homme) had already discovered Maton Mastersound Electric Guitars and they had become his go-to guitar.
In a quirky twist of fate, Josh got the ear of the people at Maton Guitars and suggested the development of the BB1200, mainly because he wanted an alternative to the the widely considered American standards and asked for a guitar with more attack and the richest sustain.
Inspired by this, Maton, in close cooperation with Josh created the semi acoustic model BB1200 and dedicated its name to the American power rocker. He called his first light blue model Betty Blue. The rest, as they say is…rock’n roll history!
The BB1200 JH (Josh Homme) is everything a great rock and roll guitar should be… stylish… playable, no nonsense and with huge tone.
The Maton BB1200 JH is right up there with the most versatile sounding guitars on the market today and its made right here in Melbourne, Australia!
With a semi-hollow body with centre block, this guitar is no one trick pony and can easily cut the mustard with everything from smooth jazz to hard rock and right through to ferocious metal.
A hand crafted hollow body guitar with gorgeous Victorian Blackwood front and back, along with a Rock Maple neck gives the BB1200JH the bedrock of its incredible mojo. At your fingertips you have harmonically rich and rounded tone along with incredible sustain and enough bite to cut through the muddiest mixes, ensuring that the BB1200 holds its own – on any stage, anytime. A bargain? You had better believe it . . . you can be sure that if this guitar had come out of an American workshop with “other” decals on the headstock, the price would triple!
The strings are anchored to a Trapeze tailpiece and the tune-o-matic style bridge offers scientifically accurate intonation. Maton MBB1 and MBN1 Bad Boy pickups with Alnico 8 magnets drive are behind the electric and supremely ecletic character of this world class guitar. Both pickups have coil split functionality and can be split to single coil mode. Using the coil tap function and subtle manipulation of the voume and tone controls, you can dial in a range of tones that will cover the wildest range of styles.
The Maton BB1200 JH – a perfect blend of tradition and irreverent rock ‘n roll attitude, this is a guitar that will shine through for you.
