MARSHALL 50th ANNIVERSARY 1962 LE HAND WIRED ELECTRIC GUITAR AMPLIFIER BRAND NEW!

Here at southcoastmusic we are both humbled and privileged to be able to offer what we believe to be the last remaining brand new examples of these iconic Hand Built Marshall Bluesbreaker combo amplifiers on the planet. Each one represents the pinnacle of contemporary British Guitar Amplifier production and for the guitar enthusiast, they are an instant trip back in time to an era when guitar tone was simply defined by a guitarist, his guitar and his amplifier.

for example…

Fifty years ago, a young and relatively unknown guitarist by the name of Eric Clapton, was asked to join a Band of British Bluesmen led by John Mayall – considered by many as the father of British Blues.

They went on to record their landmark album, “Bluesbreakers” also known as the “Beano Album” –  and changed the way that people listened to the blues forever paving the way for a legion of “guitar heroes” that continues to this day.

Eric Clapton famously used a Gibson Les Paul through an overdriven Marshall Bluesbreaker amp and a new era in guitar tone was born!

Historically Accurate Engineering

This limited edition Bluesbreaker amp is made to the same specifications as the original 1962 mode. Hand wired and featuring a pair of AlNiCo Celestion G12 speakers, this one of one hundred specially built amplifiers represents a unique and privileged opportunity to own a part of Marshall and Modern Music History.

This historically accurate limited edition 1962 ‘Bluesbreaker’ amplifier was commissioned and built to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Marshall Amplification.

One of just 100 pieces worldwide, this amplifier contains many of the features that made this one of Marshall’s best loved vintage models. 50 amplifiers were built as a partner to the Gibson Marshall Amplification Gold Top Les Paul (our package has sold).

Fifty more were built to be sold alone. A handful of these made it into Australia and thanks to the opening of the doors of the southcoastmusic VAULT, they are finally offered for sale.

This is the last one…other than when it was checked, it has not been used. It is brand new in its carton and is not and has not been on display.

According to the late, great Dr Jim Marshall, this amp was first designed following a conversation with a young English guitarist who used to practice in Jim’s music shop and later went on to international stardom. “He was one of the first guitarists to ask me for a combo version of the JTM45,” Jim recollected, years later. “He wanted something that’d be easy for him to get in and out of the boot of his car, you see. That’s how the 1962 came about.”

Once you have played through the 1962 LE Bluesbreaker, chances are there’ll be no going back. Want to experience that “magic” that Eric Clapton discovered? This is it…plug in a Les Paul, wind the tone controls back, crank the amp up and make it cry. Heavy metal thrash it is not, but if glorious valve saturated guitar tones are your thing…woman tone?…this is it!
