The M20X is a limited edition model conceived to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Suzuki’s groundbreaking Manji series harmonicas.
Limited to only 300 pieces worldwide, the Manji M-20x Anniversary Model has already sold out in almost every overseas market.
The Manji is a 10 hole – 20 reed diatonic harmonica like no other. The Manji M20X is built around a comb made from Hawaiian Koa – a beautiful timber prized for its tonal characteristics.
The Manji series of diatonic harmonicas are named after Mr. Manji Suzuki, the company’s founder — now in his late 80s, but still very much in charge.
Manji Suzuki began with a single hand-built model and over 70 years has built Suzuki up into one of the world’s Premier Harmonica Manufacturers.
With any harmonica, the reeds are the key element of sound and the Manji features phosphor bronze reeds that are longer than standard 10-hole harmonicas. The reed plates are also thicker (1.1mm in comparison to 0.9mm) than those found on the standard Manji M20. The Manji M20X harmonica has to be experienced to fully appreciate the effect of this paradigm shift in reed technology.
The result is a dynamic tone that is harmonically rich and deeper, with powerful projection and louder volume. For players familiar with short reed harmonicas, the blow/draw of the long reed may take some adjusting to however, once they become familiar, the superb sound created by the Manji becomes an invaluable element in performance and for many, there is no going back.
The stainless steel cover plates are black chrome plated and feature laser etched engraving.
