Built tough with a heavy duty metal casing, the Leem DI100 features a 6.35mm (1/4″) jack input and output (link) and can supply a balanced connection to the mixing console via XLR.
A switchable input pad (0dB, -20dB, -40dB), switchable ground lift and low battery indicator make this DI perfect for both professionals and beginners.
The versatile Leem DI-100 can be powered via battery, RPC12 adaptor or phantom power.
Passive DI boxes certainly have their place and can be very useful. The downside is that they are essentially just transformers matching impedances and balancing signals. If your source signal is low-level or low impedance, the passive DI can’t do anything to “improve” the signal.
An active DI box such as the LEEM NDI-100 uses a preamplifier to provide a stronger signal and higher input impedance. This means that it can take a low-level signal and boost it. Additionally, the NDI-100 is quiet and tonally transparent.
