The Laney LX12 is a fabulous first amplifier – in fact it is also a fabulous second or third amplifier when all you need is a great sounding compact amp with a nice clean tone and the ability to dial in some crunchy overdrive or incendiary distortion!
Sometimes a little more oomph is all you need and at 12 watts, the Laney LX12 combo amp gives you just that! Delivering a little more than your average 10 watt bedroom practice amp the Laney LX12 proudly holds its own in the practice amp domain.
There’s enough power and quality tone on tap to practice those licks in your room without blasting the windows out.
One of the best made and sturdiest practice amps on the market, the 4.8kg LX12 features solid cabinet construction, black vinyl finish, metal corners, rubber feet and a tough black metal grill protecting the 6″ custom designed driver.
The front panel has everything you need including a 6.3mm phono input, channel select switch, crunch (gain) level, global 3-band EQ, volume control, a stereo auxiliary input and for the neighbour’s sanity, a headphone jack.
Of course you would like to connect your smart phone, MP3 or DVD player and play along with your favourite artists. Well of course you can – you just need a stereo 3.5mm to stereo 6.3mm cable (which we stock). A handy 6.3mm stereo headphone jack will keep Mum and Dad and the Neighbors very happy too! (did I mention that we sell headphones?)
A brief History of Laney Amplification
Long known as the “other British Amp”, the Laney Amplification story began in the autumn of 1967 during the golden era of British Rock and Roll.
Lyndon Laney was playing bass guitar in a number of UK Midlands based bands when after several requests from friends he found himself combining his interest in music and electronics and began making boutique amplifiers for fellow band members and friends such as Tony Iommi and Robert Plant.
Fast forward more than forty years and Laney Amplifiers have grown into a multi-national amplifier manufacturer with a range of products covering all musical styles and a long list of user’s and endorsers containing some of the most influential and respected players on the planet.
