At the heart of the Jackson KEX is a single through body maple neck that features graphite reinforcement rods and a scarf joint. Light and resonant Basswood body-wings complete the look that is 100% Kelly. The Jackson Kelly™ was the brainchild of Aussie Heavy Metal Guitarist, the late Brad Kelly of celebrated Metal band – Heaven. His legacy lives on in his music and the iconic Kelly series Guitars. Brad was also instrumental in developing what we now know as the compound radius fretboard.
The Jackson X Series Kelly™ KEX features a 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and pearloid sharkfin inlays. Another major plus is the genuine Indian Rosewood Fretboard. Rosewood has been listed as an endangered species and consequently, Rosewood fretboards have become increasingly rare and found on only the most expensive instruments. It’s right here on the KEX!
The electronics are also top shelf and the KEX is equipped with a pair of Jackson high-output humbucking pickups. A single volume and tone control, three-way toggle switch and genuine Floyd Rose® Special double-locking tremolo system combine to provide amazing tone, exceptional dynamic response and reliable performance.
