KISS have stood the test of time and are one of of the biggest acts in the history of Rock n’ Roll…and they’re still doing it. Following their meteoric rise to the top of the charts during the 70’s, the band’s frontman, Paul Stanley, was approached by Ibanez to collaborate on a signature guitar that would become the iconic instrument he would forever be associated with.
When Paul and the designers at Ibanez sat down to create his signature guitar in 1977 the idea was to create a totally unique design. Fate however played its part and while perusing the Ibanez catalog, one model in particular caught Paul Stanley’s eye, the Artist 2663. With a little input from Mr Stanley, this guitar was to become forever known as the “Iceman”.
Ironically, the Artist 2663 was less than popular at the time, but Stanley’s intrigue by its asymmetrical shape and unusual body style led to the template for his signature instrument. Now, for the first time since 1996, Paul and Ibanez have reunited to introduce three exciting new Paul Stanley signature models…and this is the PS40.
The PS40 features a Poplar body for a full, balanced tone. The Maple PS profile neck with its Rosewood fingerboard is the perfect recipe for long sustain and clear articulation.
Electronics are well taken care of with a pair of Ibanez Infinity Passive/Ceramic Humbucking pickups for a great range of tones to take you right through the Kiss catalogue and beyond. An Ibanez Full Tune III Bridge and Tailpiece have been selected for optimal string transfer and precise intonation.
Finished in a High Gloss Black and chrome hardware, the Ibanez Paul Stanley PS40 is an iconic guitar, a work of art and a very affordable future classic. In every sense of the word, this guitar is a bargain.
