When Steve Vai teamed up with Ibanez in 1987, little did he realise what a lasting impact his signature model guitar would have. Today, The iconic JEM has, for so many simply been out of reach – until now.
Steve Vai had always wanted the JEM to be accessible to a broader fan base and together with Ibanez this has now resulted in the JEMJR. A more affordable ticket to the magic that is the JEM, the JEMJR has been built to play.
The JEMJR features a mahogany body and the legendary Ibanez Wizard III neck. Many of the JEMs distinguishing characteristics are here, the H/S/H pickup configuration, the Tree of Life inlays, the double locking tremolo system and the famous Monkey grip and Lion’s Claw tremolo cavity.

The materials used and build quality are on par however, with almost every brand name guitar – and we include the biggest brands in this – they are setup to a tolerance deemed acceptable by the manufacturer. Newbies almost always don’t know the difference and experienced players should know better.
