After nearly 40 years, the mighty Swede Bass makes a return to the Hagstrom line of fine instruments. Featuring a short, 30.75″ (781mm) scale length, the all mahogany, set-neck Swede Bass offers enormous sustain and easy playability. One of the most important traits inherited from the Swede guitar is Hagstrom’s classic tailpiece design with its massive blocks directly coupled to the body for optimal transmission of string energy, a key contributor to the Swede Bass’s thunderous, piano-like tones.
The pickups on the Swede Bass are derived from its not-too-distant cousin, the Viking Bass and have been custom wound to delight players looking for sonic versatility – from classic to modern, these pickups deliver it all and more. Include a 3-way tone switch, another genetic contribution from the Swede Bass’ brother, and you have an easy-to-use, and easy-to-play source for your next collection of great bass sounds.
For added versatility, you can coil split the humbuckers to single coil mode, individually for neck and bridge pickups, by simply pulling up on the respective Tone knob.
