The Greg Bennett MALIBU™ MMB-1 captures the essence of those early bolt-on neck guitars, in a sleek and compact, updated package. The smaller body size makes it lighter and more manageable on those extended club sets. It is also the most perfect beginner electric guitar!
When the late Greg Bennett designed the Malibu, he made the neck pocket deeper for a superior neck to body contact. Greg also included an angled-back headstock to provide greater string bearing pressure at the nut. This results in improved tone and tuning stability as well as enhanced attack and sustain.
Featuring a compact, offset double cutaway body, the Malibu is the premium electric guitar choice for young players and for adults – it is simply a fabulous little electric guitar.
Assembled by hand, the Malibu features a solid Mahogany body with a bolt-on Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard.
The Malibu MMB-1 features a pair of 6000WH single coil pickups with a master volume and tone control. With a three way blade pickup selector switch, the Malibu delivers a full and versatile array of tones.
The hardtail bridge is a work of art and features six fully adjustable saddles. Each string has its own individual saddle which allows precise adjustment of intonation and string height at the bridge. The capped tuners offer great tuning stability and the chrome plating is both elegant and durable.
Pro-SCM Setup
The late Greg Bennett was a major player in Guitar Design. Before joining Samick, Greg designed guitars for Gibson. He was truly humbled when Samick approached him to design his signature line of guitars. Today, Greg Bennett designed guitars built by Samick are respected by musicians the world over. We love them too.
Your Greg Bennett Malibu will undergo a full Pro-SCM setup. Our guitar tech, John Kuts is booked out weeks ahead for his setups and restorations. When you buy this guitar, you jump straight to the front of the queue! Our Pro-SCM setup includes:
• Checking all aspects of the setup
• Dress, level and crown frets as required
• Hand roll fret ends to remove sharp edges
• Polish the frets to a super smooth mirror finish
• Oil, condition and polish the fretboard
• Service the tuners
• Adjust the intonation and string height at the saddle and nut
