The Luthiers at the Gibson Custom Shop drew on some incredible inspiration when they conceived and then built this dream guitar.
The highly figured AAAAA+ quilt maple top is one of the best we have ever seen on any guitar! This Gibson Les Paul Elegant also features a superb one piece weight relieved mahogany body, a one piece Mahogany neck and Madagascan Ebony Fretboard with genuine abalone and mother-of-pearl inlays.

Compound Radius Fingerboard
Handcrafted from Top Grade Madagascan Ebony, the compound radius fingerboard allows easier fingering and playability all the way up the neck…open chords at the gently radiused first three frets simply jangle or rock while your fingers fly over the upper reaches of the flatter radius fretboard redefining the Les Paul’s status as the “fretless wonder” all the while reducing fret buzz and maximising sustain.
AAAAA+ Figured Top
This is one of the most beautiful quilted tops that I have ever seen and in my former role as the Regional Sales Manager for Gibson-AMI, I have seen a few. The fact that it is actually a carved half inch thick, beautifully bookmatched slab of premium Maple is even more amazing. It is simply stunning!
Hand inlaid Binding
The Exquisite Quilt Maple Top and Ebony Fingerboard are bound with Creme coloured single-ply binding that adds a simple yet elegant touch of class.
Abalone and Black Pearl Trapezoid Inlays
The classic Gibson trapezoidal inlays in the Les Paul Elegant have been carved from the finest Abalone and Black Pearl Shell. They look absolutely exquisite and are the last word in aesthetic beauty. They are a work of art.
Classic Nickel Plated Hardware
The Classic and highly valuable Les Pauls that now fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars all have nickel plated hardware. This baby follows the same formula and a pair of ’57 Classic Humbuckers complete the picture for that timeless, classic Les Paul Tone.
Dynamic Tone Chambers
Some Les Paul owners claim that their guitars suffer from excessive weight. It’s true that Mahogany can sometimes be excessively heavy – Not so the Les Paul Elegant… routed into the one-piece mahogany back are hollow tone chambers providing wonderful acoustic properties, a more balanced tone and a significant weight reduction. The fact is that the lighter Les Pauls are more resonant, responsive and dynamic. We hand select our Les Pauls for that “ideal” weight, 6 to 7 1/2 pounds in the old Imperial Measure.
This guitar is not available from any other Dealer in Australia, in fact we believe that this is the best hand picked example of the very limited Elegant series (in the world…do the Google search and test us) and offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the serious guitar collector or player. You might buy cheaper secondhand but you won’t buy a better brand new example…period.
