Fender Vintage 1975 Jazz Bass Ultra Rare Left Hand Model Sunburst Used Electric Bass Guitar
Fender sell relic’d versions of their classic instruments – here is the opportunity to own the real thing.
The Fender Jazz Bass almost needs no introduction – originally conceived by Leo Fender to appeal to upright Double Bass players, it has become one of the most popular bass guitars of all time.
Fender generally built their instruments from whatever parts were at hand and many of those parts were made en-masse and stored until used. This Bass is no exception.
The neck is clearly stamped 1972 while the serial number on the neck plate – 615719, indicates a build date of 1975. Either way, this is an ultra-rare left handed Jazz Bass in the classic sunburst finish.
It features a classic Alder Body along with a Maple neck. The neck is capped with a bound Rosewood fretboard with block inlays.
This is, every inch a player’s bass guitar and shows the wear and “soul” marks of a well loved – and played instrument. The original pickups are included but are not fitted. They have been replaced by a pair of 6.5K Ohm pickups. The tone is what one would expect from a Jazz Bass and shouldn’t disappoint.
At some stage the original pickguard was damaged and replaced.
This bass has been serviced and setup in our workshop. The frets have been dressed, crowned with the fret ends hand-rolled. The frets have then been polished. The fingerboard has been cleaned and oiled. The action is low and a delight to play.
This is a unique opportunity for the left handed bass player – a well sorted early 1970’s Fender Jazz Bass in it’s original case – they don’t come around very often. This Bass is on consignment and the owner has said it must go!
