Fender Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Precision Bass – 3 Colour Sunburst Fender Flat Wound Strings
The Vintage Modified range has given Fender the opportunity to take iconic guitars from their illustrious history and, under the Squier banner, add modern twists and touches for improved playability – all at low and affordable price points.
A limited edition model, the Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Precision Bass was the first ever Squier fretless Precision Bass Guitar.
The Precision body is crafted from Agathis and finished in classic three colour sunburst gloss. The Maple neck features a modern ‘C’ profile topped with an 9.5″ radius Ebonol fingerboard. Many Bass players shy away from fretless basses as their lack of frets can make playing them a daunting task. Fender have overcome this hurdle and the Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Precision Bass is inlaid with white fret lines to aid finger placement and accurate intonation. The key is to playing this beauty is to put your fingers right on top of the fret line, not behind it as with a fretted bass guitar.
Only a fretless bass can deliver those classic ‘mwah’ lines heard on many classic records. We have set this beauty up with Fender Flat Wound Bass Guitar strings and in tandem with the Fender-designed split-coil P Bass pickup, the tone is simply to die for. The tone is fat, focused and incredibly musical. The neck and fingerboard feel amazing and the silky smooth feel of the flat wound strings should have you playing effortlessly.
Other appointments includes the 3-ply tortoise shell scratchplate, a vintage style bridge with four adjustable single groove saddles and vintage style tuners.
This Fender Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass is straight out of our vault – brand new and unplayed. It was a strictly limited edition model and is no longer available. This is an awesome Bass and with the addition of Fender Flatwound strings, it sounds and plays way above its pay grade!
