Fender Diesel Signature Stratocaster Limited Edition Electric Guitar
Fender has released a limited edition guitar for one of our country’s finest guitarists, Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte. This is Fender’s first Australian artist signature model in more than 20 years and its a beauty.
Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte, long renowned as not only a great blues-rock guitarist, but also an accomplished singer, songwriter and live performer, worked closely with the Fender team over an intensive six-month period to design his signature model to his exacting specifications.
This limited edition Signature Stratocaster celebrates his 30-year playing legacy while paying homage to the guitar that helped ‘Diesel’ become a household name.
To capture his distinctive blues-rock tone and accompanying aesthetic, in designing his Signature Stratocaster, Diesel specified an ash body, oversized ‘70s headstock, soft ’57 V neck profile and an aged white pearloid pickguard.
A trio of Texas Special pickups mounted on an aged white pearloid pickguard, faithfully capture Mark’s blistering blues rock tone. Characterised by their midrange chirp, crystalline highs and tight bass, Fender Texas Special™ Strat pickups feature an overwound single-coil construction that produces that big Texas-blues tone.
The “Soft V” neck carve is less fatiguing than the traditional “V” profile. Slightly smoothing the sharpness and rounding it out has resulted in a superbly comfortable profile ideal for both rhythm and lead playing.
The Maple neck also features a Maple fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets.
Blending a brash ’80’s look with modern playability and maturity, this guitar has been designed to look and sound every bit as cool as its namesake. Despite his incredible talent, Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte is one down to earth dude and in order to make his signature guitar affordable it has been built in Japan to the highest standards.
