The Blues Jr Lacquered Tweed takes Fender’s 15W gem and gives it the true vintage treatment with a lacquered tweed covering and a vintage-voiced 12″ Jensen speaker.
The glorious golden tones are generated by an all-valve signal path using a pair of EL84 output valves and three 12AX7 preamp valves.
With the addition of Fender’s renowned spring reverb, flexible controls and FAT switch for that all important mid boost – you’re in business.
What a thing of beauty. . . just look at that lacquered tweed cab with it’s vintage-style brown/gold grille cloth and classy chrome control panel finish resplendent with those oh-so-cool vintage pointer knobs!
Now, about that speaker . . . the C12N is one of the most important speakers in Jensen’s history. It is the top 12” speaker of the ‘Blackface Era, used by many American manufacturers in the mid ‘60s for their upper range models when the price of AlNiCo became unsustainable. Clear highs, solid mids and powerful basses, the Jensen the C12N epitomises the tone of that decade, from the surf, the rock n’ roll, the electric blues and the West Coast inspired music. It was used by Fender in the Twin, Bassman and Bandmaster amps, it’s a classic – and it’s here in the Blues Jr. Lacquered Tweed.
