First introduced in 1958, the Epiphone Coronet is one of Epiphone’s first and most successful original solid body electric guitar designs.
This limited edition version is the latest and brings back many of the features of the early Coronet models along with a few modern tweaks to make this a 11o% player’s guitar.
Vintage features include the symmetrical double-cutaway mahogany body with a single Epiphone PRO™ P-90 Dogear pickup, reduced sized Kalamazoo headstock with Epiphone Bikini badge and the three-a-side strip tuners with ivory buttons.
The stunning transparent gloss cherry finish is perfectly complimented by the white butterfly pickguard with foil E logo.
The Epiphone Coronet features a glued-in mahogany neck with a medium C profile, Indian Laurel fretboard with a 12″ radius and 22 medium jumbo frets and an Epiphone Lightning Bar compensated wraparound bridge.
The single Dogear P90 pickup is tamed with a volume and tone control both featuring CTS® potentiometers.
THE P90 SINGLE COIL PICKUP
Legendary Tone
First introduced in the early 1950s, Gibson’s legendary P90 single coil pickup produced a raw powerful tone that was embraced by the blues and rock and roll players in those formative years. Today, the traditional combination of high output and brilliant tone continues to make the P90 the first choice for many top musicians. Known also as the “Soapbar” and “Cobalt,” the P90 has the focused presence to cut through any type of music, while retaining amazing tonal sensitivity and dynamics for everything from blues and rock to mellow jazz riffs. The P90 is fully wax potted to eliminate any chance of unwanted microphonic feedback.
