EPIPHONE CASINO HOLLOWBODY ELECTRIC GUITAR

When the Epiphone Casino hollow body electric guitar made it’s debut in 1961 it created an immediate sensation.

Epiphone had not long before become part of the Gibson family and the Casino was one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company’s adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

It wasn’t long before the legendary Casino became Epiphone’s best-selling archtop and a rock ‘n’ roll standard.

The Casino was first adopted by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Casino to record the demo for “Satisfaction” at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin’ Wolf took a Casino on his first tour of the UK, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars.

Paul McCartney was the first Beatle to acquire a Casino in 1962. Although he was the Beatle’s Bass player, he used his Casino for his studio forays into guitar work, including his guitar solos on Ticket to Ride – 1965, Drive My Car – 1965 and Taxman – 1966. Not surprisingly, when John Lennon and George Harrison went looking for new guitars to play on the Beatles 1966 world tour, they chose Epiphone Casinos and the rest, as they say – is history! John Lennon continued to use the Epiphone Casino as his main instrument during the remainder of his time with the Beatles.

The number of guitarists associated with the Casino is extensive and includes luminaries such as Howlin’ Wolf, George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Dave Davies, Paul Weller, The Edge, Josh Homme, Daniel Kessler, Noel Gallagher, Brendon Urie, Gary Clark Jr, Glenn Frey, John Illsley, Peter Green, Dave Grohl and countless more. Maybe it’s time to add your name to the list and discover what these players already know.

This brand new Epiphone Casino features an arched 5-ply Maple body with Basswood top bracing.

The stunning Turquoise finish looks simply amazing and captures the vintage vibe while retaining a modern aesthetic.

A pair of Dogear P-90T Classic™ pickups are on hand to coax both classic and contemporary tones.

P-90 Single Coil Pickup – Legendary Tone

First introduced in the early 1950s, Gibson’s legendary P90 single coil pickup produced a raw powerful tone that helped define the blues and rock and roll in their formative years. Today, the P90’s traditional combination of high output and brilliant tone is still considered a favourite among many top musicians.

Known by such familiar nicknames as the “Soapbar” and the “Cobalt,” the P90 still cuts through any type of music, all while displaying amazing tonal sensitivity for everything from blues and rock to mellow jazz riffs.

Perfect as a vintage replacement, the P90 features vintage, braided two-conductor wiring. It’s also fully wax potted to eliminate any chance of unwanted microphonic feedback.
