Dieter Goelsdorf´s Duesenberg design consolidates the guitar construction techniques, features and sounds which have written and continue to rewrite music history. The art deco style design of headstock, pick guard and metal components gives Duesenberg its own eye catching look, while the body design bases on the old traditional Jazz guitars like being built from the 40s in Europe and in the USA.
These design elements are combined with the best possible electric guitar construction values of the 50s: Grand Vintage Alnico pickups, classical Fender scale length plus a Gibson like fingerboard radius. While the vintage styling, the hardware, pickups and controls embody the vibe of those glory years, these instruments are built with cutting edge precision offering performance that it absoltuely class leading.
The Starplayer Special reawakens the early history of Duesenberg by reintroducing of the very first Duesenberg guitar. Its alder body is combined with a solid maple top, with four screws anchoring the maple neck securely to the body.
This construction method unifies into one aesthetically streamlined whole two worlds of traditional guitar making bolt on and set in neck to body attachments here, the end of the neck is enclosed by the body s neck pocket, just as it should be in a properly built instrument.
The mounted Grand Vintage pickup in conjunction with the somewhat hotter Crunchbucker delivers penetrating and powerful rock tones. The multi tone potentiometer extends the possibilities beyond that with several additional singlecoil like sound options making this one of the most versatile tone machines available.
