The materials used are first class and build quality equally impressive. The Dean Z79Floyd features a three piece mahogany neck with a 22-fret bound Indian Rosewood Fingerboard. Classy white binding is used to great effect on the body and headstock, perfectly complimenting the Trans Cherry finish.
DMT USA TIME CAPSULE pickups
The Dean Z79Floyd is equipped with pair of DMT (Dean Magnetic Technologies) Series Time Capsule humbucking Zebra Pickups. TIME CAPSULE pickups are also used in Dean’s original TC series guitars. These USA built pickups capture the biting tones of the vintage Dean instruments produced from 1977 to 1986 with very strident lows and punchy mids. They are versatile, high output pickups – crank them up for soaring solo tones, wind the volume back for classic crunch and blues or turn the volume controls up to 10 and wind the master tone control right back to zero for singing 60’s Clapton “woman” tones. Simply inspirational.
