Chiayo’s new digital wireless microphone system – the DWR-2400 receiver with the DB-2400 Belt Pack wireless transmitter and MC16 Lapel microphone is a game changer. With up to 81 selectable frequencies (expandable to 189 frequencies), this system is capable of operating over an outdoor distance of 100m. The Receiver and Belt Pack Transmitter both incorporate an LCD display, providing management and configuration within the 2.4GHz frequency range.
This 2.4GHz Digital system utilises an uncompressed audio signal with proprietary encryption for transmitting high-fidelity audio with an ultra-low latency of 0.004s and reboot time of 0.2s. High-end Pro features include automatic frequency scanning with adjustable RSSI level. The DWR2400 receiver can switch between single and dual-channel mode and comes with real time sensitivity gain control.
The DB2400 Belt Pack transmitter can operate for up to 12 hours on 2 x AA batteries and includes a slide switch to lock it to standby mode.

Digital Wireless Audio – The Game Changer
The benefit of Digital Wireless cannot be overstated. Analog connects your Microphone to the Receiver via a radio frequency, sending the signal over the “airwaves”. Analog signal paths can become congested introducing noise and interference.
Digital Wireless Systems on the other hand convert the Analog Signal into a Digital Signal (a series of ones and zeros) at the point of transmission. The Receiver then decodes the signal back into an Analog Audio Signal. The Receiver ignores anything that isn’t “ones and zeros” thereby reducing noise and interference and enhancing the Audio Signal.
Suits High Density Installations and Applications
2.4 GHz devices work in a larger frequency band and therefore potentially offer more channels and greater potential density than lower frequency devices.
Interference Avoided
The Chiayo Digital Wireless Microphone system is able to change frequencies seamlessly on the fly, easily avoiding potential interference from other wireless technologies such as WiFi and Bluetooth using the 2.4GHZ band.
Reduced Latency
There are no latency issues with analog as audio travels at the speed of light. Latency however, was an issue with early digital wireless microphone systems due to the time taken to convert and process the signal. Chiayo’s ultra-low latency of 0.004s is virtually undiscernible to most listeners!
Encryption
If you need to encrypt the signal then you have to go digital, although not a concern for the average user…
