ENHANCED FUNCTIONS TO MAKE LEARNING FUN!
AHL SOUND SOURCE
The Dual-Element AHL Sound Source delivers 700 built-in tones which sound better than ever before. Delivering a maximum polyphony of 64, the CDP-235BK includes a wide selection of instrument tones including Acoustic Grand Pianos, Strings, Guitars, Percussion and other acoustic instruments, allowing you to play a wide variety of musical genres.
SCALED HAMMER ACTION KEYBOARD
A spring-less hammer system that is similar to the one used by grand pianos provides a keyboard touch that is naturally firm. Lower notes play relatively heavier than higher notes, just like the keys on a grand piano.
FULL FORCE SPEAKER SYSTEM
The newly developed speaker system delivers a rich, high-quality sound, clearly reproducing a wide dynamic range of sound from the bass range right though to the treble.
SELECT THE CONFIGURATION THAT’S BEST FOR YOU
The CDP-235BK has an optional piano stand CS-44P available to configure the keyboard for lessons and serious piano play. Or you can remove the stand for a basic compact configuration that is portable and fits just about anywhere.
PITCH BEND WHEEL
The pitch bend wheel makes it easy to add realistic sounding guitar choking, sax bending and other effects to keyboard play.
RECORDING
Built in is a 5 song, 6 track MIDI recorder where you can compose and store your own music. A great tool for capturing your creative moments as well as for practicing.
SD CARD SLOT
Song sequencer, rhythm editor, and other data can be saved to an SD or SDHC memory card. SMF (Standard MIDI File) data stored on an SD or SDHC memory card can be played back on the keyboard.
STEP-UP LESSON
Use the step up lesson feature to learn new songs. You can even load in your own user songs (SMF format, via computer USB) and the keyboard will help you learn.
CHORD BOOK
You can use the Chord Book to look up chords you do not know how to play. You can hear what a chord sounds like and view on the screen the notes that make up that chord. It can even show you inverted forms of the chord, making the Chord Book a valuable reference.
SAMPLING FUNCTION
You can sample a sound from a portable audio player, or other device, and then play the sound on the keyboard. You also can use sampled sounds to compose music. The sampling feature is a great way to create new sounds that are highly creative.
AUDIO IN
Connecting a music player to the AUDIO IN jack causes the audio from the player to be output through the keyboard’s speakers. Of course, you can play along with the audio, which means you can enjoy jamming with your favourite artists.
ARPEGGIATOR / AUTO HARMONIZE
With the arpeggiator, you can play various arpeggios and other phrases automatically by simply pressing keys on the keyboard. Both arpeggio and stroke play are available for guitar, which provides you with a wide range of versatility. An Auto Harmonize feature automatically adds harmony to melody notes you play with your right hand to add greater depth to your melodies.

CASIO CDP235 RECORDING TO A COMPUTER
A question often asked by our CASIO Digital Piano customers is “can I use my CDP Digital Piano to record to Garage Band or other DAW software?”
Well, the answer is yes and there a couple of ways that you can do it. This YouTube clip shows one way of integrating your CASIO CDP Digital Piano (the CDP200 is shown but the concept translates to all models) with Garage Band. The same principles apply for PC’s running DAW software such as Cubase, Ableton, ProTools and more!
