Building upon a heritage dating back to the late 1800s, the new generation of Barnes & Mullins banjos and mandolins created a wave of excitement amongst players. We have secured a small number of these instruments for immediate sale. They offer superb playability and an unmistakable visual appeal. This is a lovely mandolin, perfect for pros and starters alike.

The BM600 is an A-Style mandolin named after the town of Wimborne in the English county of Dorset. It was during the late 19th century that Albert Mullins and S Bowley Barnes first met in Wimborne and formed the friendship upon which the next few decades of performance and business would be founded.
The Wimborne is a traditional A-Style mandolin and features a dark stained finish and a Rosewood fingerboard giving it a traditional folk/roots look that is both timeless and beautiful.
Hand crafted with a solid Spruce top and solid Maple back and sides, the Wimborne has a beautiful earthy look with its gloss lacquer finish. The first generation examples featured an Indian Rosewood fretboard with 20 Nickel-Silver frets and a height adjustable floating Ebony bridge.
Our PRO-SCM setup completes what is already an exceptional value for a quality A-style Mandolin.
The 20 nickel silver frets have been dressed, crowned and hand polished. The fret ends have also been hand rolled to provide that played -in feel without sharp edges. The string height at the nut and bridge have also been set to their optimum level resulting in a mandolin that feels, sounds and plays like an instrument costing much more.
This attention to detail is what sets us apart – you may buy cheaper but we are confident that you won’t buy better. This setup, as a paid service is worth at least $200.
The end result is a beautiful mandolin with a low, comfortable action and bright, sparkling, ringing tone and authoritative voice.
If you are buying on price alone, we can offer this Wimborne with a factory setup.
