Why Flat Wound Bass strings you ask?
For starters they are much easier on frets and fingers than roundwound strings. For this reason alone, most of our beginner bassists prefer flatwounds – especially those with short or medium-scale basses. Roundwound strings can also be quite abrasive with many fretless bass players also choosing flatwound strings to preserve the integrity of their fingerboards.
